Michael is a registered Clinical Psychologist who holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from Griffith University on the Gold Coast. He has clinical experience in a range of settings, including community psychological clinics, veteran health services, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres. Michael’s main areas of expertise and interests include anxiety and stress, depression, trauma, relationships, discovering meaning and purpose in life, and promoting overall wellbeing.

By collaborating with them, Michael helps clients gain deeper insights into their relationship patterns, experiences, and emotions, guiding them towards achieving their personal goals. Michael uses a client-centred, collaborative, and individualised approach, where he works together with the client to explore the client’s unique needs, challenges, and goals in order to tailor an evidence-based intervention. Michael draws from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT)
  • Motivational Interviewing

Background
Alongside his university studies and professional development as a psychologist, Michael has been engaged in various areas of mental health and psychology. This includes serving as a committee member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), volunteering to support males’ mental health across the lifespan through group work, and assisting younger populations in coping with grief and trauma. Outside of his professional life, Michael enjoys spending time in the surf and outdoors, as well as creating artwork.
