Samira (pronounced Sahmeera) is a registered Clinical Psychologist. She holds undergraduate bachelor’s degree and first-class honours in Psychological Science, along with postgraduate Master’s Equivalent and PhD degrees in Clinical Psychology. Samira has clinical and research experience working with clients across the lifespan and has worked in a variety of settings, including private, education, hospital, community crisis support, and clinical research. Samira is passionate about working collaboratively with adult clients of all ages to help them overcome life challenges, develop practical skills and improve their general wellbeing.

With a decade of training and experience in evidence-based approaches, Samira specialises in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of psychological disorders. Her main areas of specialisation include:

Background
From 2019, Samira has worked as a psychology researcher and clinician and has enjoyed tutoring undergraduate psychology students at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. She finished her Master’s Equivalent degree in 2022 and started working in private practice. Samira subsequently completed her PhD in 2024. Her PhD dissertation examined the role of youth’s perception of mindful parenting in their own emotional and social adjustment and coping with life stressors and how these relationships were facilitated by specific youth’s emotional regulation skills (i.e., dispositional mindfulness, interpersonal mindfulness, and self-compassion). She has published her PhD research in scientific journals and continues to work on making further contributions in this area. Samira has a background in IT and holds advanced computer skills. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
In her spare time, Samira loves spending quality time with her family and friends and being outdoors and in nature. She also enjoys staying active (e.g., gym, pilates, swimming, and walking), cooking mediterranean food, watching documentaries and comedies, and listening to music and podcasts. On special occasions, Samira loves traveling locally and internationally to visit her family overseas, explore different parts of the world, and interact with people from various backgrounds and cultures.
